3/25/08 YEAH!!!! Today is parent/teacher conference day. Oh, how I look forward to going..<------sarcasm I guess I'll inform you guys later about how big of punks my kids are..Today, today I want to talk/write about friends. Friends are really far and few between. I used to think that it was my personality, but really, I am probably one of the most loyal people you'll ever meet. Once you befriend me, I'm a friend for life. I just wish the same thing went for others. They say that if you have a friend for life that your a very blessed person. Well, what is a friend for life? Is this a childhood friend that just wouldn't go away? Is it a person that you've known for a good portion of your life, and no matter how much abuse you've given it, it just keeps coming back for more? Now, don't get me wrong. I am very blessed person, and do have a couple of friends, but in all honesty, I think I consider most just aquaintence's. There have been people that I very much have liked and cared for in my life that did nothing but stab me in my back in the long run. So I guess ultimately, it was just my loyalty getting to me again. I have had many thoughts and doubts about my abilities to befriend people,(and to hang on to them), but I have long since came to the understanding that it's just people in general. We all have a tendency to go where the flow is, and not purposely hurt someone in between.<----this doesnt go for all people, for I have met some a-holes too, that wouldn't think twice about doing you dirty. So, the moral of the story is: Thank your friend for being "there" for you .For giving you that baby shower/wedding shower. For picking you up and putting you in your place when you really needed it. For giving you confidence when you had doubts. And for just making "it" alright. Reciprocate back. Don't always take advantage, and if you have a friend for life, than REALLY consider yourself lucky/blessed. It's a relationship that you don't have to divorce, and they will always love you for who and what you are.. Thanks you guys... |
