3/26/08 11 yr old

 Well, today was a crazy day. I don't know, I've been having some issues with my 11yr old. He is a wonderful kid with an amazing personality, but he also has an amazing mouth. You see, this kid has always managed to find trouble no matter where he is or what he does. Trouble, trouble, trouble !!!! I can thankfully say that the trouble that he manages to find, overall isn't bad. But I do believe that if it isn't stopped , that it can definitely progress. I'm not sure if it's just the age or if it's him. He just has NO respect for anyone. I like to think that I have instilled respect into all of my children, but evidently not. I can't blame poor parenting, not that I think of myself as a "perfect" parent, but I definitely am a careful/reasonable parent. I like to compromise instead of always saying no. I always like to give explanations as to why I'm saying no, too. Maybe I'm just too lenient, and now? Well, now he's a monster. I'm a parent, not a friend. I would love to know him as a friend, but that's not my role as a mom. Not right now. My role as a mom is to instill ethics, morals, values as well as conforming him into a functional/productive adult. So, I guess if that means my not being his friend for a long time, than so be it. At least I KNOW that he's gonna be a great adult. Even if it kills me....lol
